Happy Labor Day Weekend

“Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. for those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. you can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. summer just opens the door and lets you out.” ― Deb Caletti, Honey, Baby, Sweetheart

I know it’s technically still summer in September, but for me, Labor Day weekend always feels a bit like summer’s last hurrah. The nights are getting cooler and we’re all just trying to fit in a few more summer things before fall arrives.

No matter what you have planned this weekend, I hope you make time to do something fabulous or lazy or luxurious to celebrate the unofficial end of summer.

I’m headed to Sioux City, Iowa to watch a whole lot of Roller Derby, so if you have any tips on cool places to go in Sioux City or along the way, I’d love your input — just leave a comment below!

Stay safe, have fun and have a great holiday weekend!
